Ms. Kelsey Zhang

Originally from Beijing, Kelsey earned her MEd degree in International Education from HKU and BEd degree in English Language Education from the Education University of Hong Kong. Kelsey serves as the Development Manager and Hong Kong-China Liaison Representative of International Chinese Academy Education Foundation.

Before joining the group, Kelsey worked as the Academic Director in the Hong Kong subsidiary of the NY-listed TAL Education Group. She’s responsible for developing new business and providing management services to international programmes of primary and secondary schools. Prior to that, Kelsey also worked as the Editorial Manger in an e-learning solution provider, leading the development of the very first set of English e-textbooks which were approved by Education Bureau of Hong Kong for KS1-KS3 students.

She is also currently the Student Affairs Manager of Norton House Education and Peterhouse International Preschool, leading their respective managements and external affairs.

Mrs. Susan Smith

Susan Smith has over 40 years of experience in teaching and educational leadership. She is a fully qualified teacher and holds a Diploma in Advanced Educational Studies and a Master of Arts in Applied Educational Research.

Susan began her teaching career in Great Britain before moving to Hong Kong in 2009 to become a senior management under the English Schools Foundation (ESF). She was later appointed to become the Primary Principal of Victoria Shanghai Academy.Susan is passionate about customising learning for each individual student and developing the best curriculum that adapts to their needs.

Susan Smith is the Senior Advisor of International Chinese Academy Education Foundation, Chinese Academy Peterhouse Kindergarten and Peterhouse International Preschool. She provides overall guiding advisory and evaluation on schools establishment, management and governance, teachers recruitment and training, quality assurance and curriculum development.

James May

Hailed from Leeds, United Kingdom, James have always been interested in arts, music and education. Experienced working within an educational setting both as a Learning Support Assistant in the UK and as an English teacher In Hong Kong, James often incorporates music is into the classroom environment as he believes music and song are fantastic aids for young learners.

An Interesting Fact
“James performed in a professional band in the UK for 3 years. And he still plays the guitar after 6:00pm at Peterhouse.”

Grace

Grace enjoys arts and music and often surprises us with her spectacular drawings on the Peterhouse blackboard. With experiences in training young children for interviews and handling various admission hurdles, Grace is the “go-to” tutor for preparation for Pre-nursery and Primary School Admissions.

An Interesting Fact
Grace is a cat lover and plays the piano. She sometimes jams with teacher James May at Peterhouse.

Dr. Debbie Tsang

Dr. Debbie Tsang

Dr. Debbie Tsang believes that every student should be taught the way they wish to learn. Being one of most patient and caring coaches, Debbie is truly multi-talented.

She achieved her Bachelor of Sciences (1st class honour) and MPhil from the University of Hong Kong. Her passion in earth sciences driven her to carry on her PhD research at Nagoya University (Japan), in collaboration with Bristol University (U.K.), to investigate copper and its relationship with active volcanic activity.

Debbie is skilled in teaching geography, biology, chemistry, mathematics and search essay writing.

This combined with his Diploma in Early Childhood Education, and current ambition of pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Early Childhood Studies makes Tamby the perfect educator! Tamby’s personal interests include comedy, hip-hop, politics, technology, fitness, education, design, and comic books!

Of course this means that she is most definitely into dancing, singing, and acting in her free time! Joan uses her lively personality and capturing teaching techniques to mesmerise her students and improve their English as well as confidence and presentation skills.

Our in-house “Original” James boasts an impressive resume, having a degree in Philosophy and Religion as well as a TEFL certificate. James is into basketball, creating challenging mazes for his students to complete, cooking, art, and of course which English teacher’s list of passions would be complete without reading and writing?! James’s extensive teaching experience combined with his adoration for literature extends to his students and invokes inspiration.

“I have climbed to the summit of three mountains, Mount Adams New Hampshire 5,793 feet above sea level, Mount Washington New Hampshire 6.288 feet above sea level, and Mount Osborn Wyoming 13,804 feet above sea level with my two daughters then aged 5 and 10.”
